Life Update

The start of something new!

Here I am, writing on a brand new website, just less than a week after migrating my site – it is all very surreal indeed! If you are reading this post then you probably have noticed this is not the usual Life as a Cerebral Palsy website, nor is it under the same URL (hello www.chloetear.co.uk). However, I can promise you it is still me.

When it daunted me that not being a student meant I needed a new blog name I almost felt a bit lost. My blog, Life as a Cerebral Palsy Student, was the start of a passion-fuelled hobby that essentially became an extension of myself. I’m aware that may seem dramatic, but it was that blog that led me to the world of disability advocacy, it’s not something I can just say goodbye to in a hurry! But what should it be replaced with? Life as a Cerebral Palsy Person? Life as a Visually Impaired and Cerebral Palsy Person? We really could get out of hand here. I essentially wanted a brand that I could stick with. I’ll forgive my 15-year-old self for choosing a name with an inevitable expire date, but this is not what I predicted. What’s the one thing I can stick with for life, explains everything and encompasses what I stand for – my name. So here it is!

I’ve not written a blog post in nearly a month, which unfortunately breaks the 3 year streak of writing on a fortnightly basis. How I have done that all the way through university I will never know, but the last two weeks have been building a new website and allowed me to reflect on what I actually wanted from the site. I knew there had to be some element of yellow, if you know me at all then you’ll know this is pretty much a given! I also wanted to come up with some new ideas for content, rather than just blindly jumping into this new blog.

The website is still a bit of a working progress and it’s not 100% how I’d like it, but this is close enough! I’m currently finishing off an essay for university, about to move back home and working full time, but I didn’t want to go off the grid for too long. In all honesty, I’ve missed just sitting down and writing. I may spend a lot of my life sat at a laptop typing away, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Here’s to a new blog, a new job and new adventures!

Speak soon!
